Moyo ist jetzt die Matriarchin der Waisenhaus-Herde und hat immer ein wachsames Auge auf ihre kleinen Schützlinge. Sie kümmert sich sehr liebevoll um die Kälber. Manchmal ist Moyo verunsichert, wenn die Kleinen im Busch auf Erkundungstour gehen und außer Sichtweite sind. Moyo is now the matriarch of the Nursery herd and always keeps a watchful eye on her little charges. She takes very loving care of the calves. Sometimes Moyo is unsettled when the babies go exploring in the bush and are out of sight. Es ist „Flashback Friday“, könnt ihr erraten, wer dieser kleine Elefant ist? Das ist Moyo, die allererste Elefantenwaise, die 2014 von der Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery gerettet wurde. Moyo’s beste Freundin war damals Familienhündin Josephine – beide waren anfangs fast gleich groß. 😉 Moyo ist ein sehr herzliches Elefantenmädchen, bekannt für ihren vorwitzigen Charakter und mittlerweile spielt Moyo eine bedeutende Rolle im Elefantenwaisenhaus. Als Matriarchin kümmert sie sich hingebungsvoll um die kleinsten Babys.

It’s „Flashback Friday“, can you guess who this little elephant is? This is Moyo, the very first orphaned elephant rescued by the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery in 2014. Moyo’s best friend at the time was family dog Josephine – they were both almost the same size at first 😉 Moyo is a very warm elephant girl and is known for her cheeky character, who plays an important role in the Elephant Nursery now. As the matriarch, she devotedly looks after the smallest babies.

REA GEBURTSTAGS-COUNTDOWN – Tag 26 🎉

 

2017 besucht unser Vorstandsmitglied Saskia das von uns unterstützte Elefantenwaisenhaus in Simbabwe. Sie lernt nicht nur Roxy Danckwerts, Gründerin des Elefantenwaisenhauses, und ihr wunderbares Team kennen, sondern auch die dreijährige Moyo und deren Elefantenfreunde. Moyo bedeutet „Herz“ in der Sprache der Shona. Ein perfekter Name für dieses bezaubernde Elefantenmädchen, denn Moyo stiehlt jedem, der sie trifft, das Herz.

REA BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN – Day 26 🎉

 

In 2017, Saskia, one of our board members, visit the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery we also support. She not only meets Roxy Danckwerts, founder of the Elephant Nursery, and her incredible team, but also three-year-old Moyo and her elephant friends. Moyo means „heart“ in Shona and it’s a perfect name for this charming girl as she steals the hearts of everyone.

REA GEBURTSTAGS-COUNTDOWN – Tag 22 🎉

 

2014 werden wir das erste Mal auf die von Roxy Danckwerts gegründete Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery aufmerksam, das erste offizielle Elefantenwaisenhaus in Simbabwe. Moyo ist das erste Elefantenbaby, das 2014 von der Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery gerettet wird. Sie wurde als winziges, wenige Tage altes Baby allein am Ufer des Kariba-Sees gefunden. Moyo ist ein schelmisches kleines Mädchen und verzaubert jeden mit ihrem Charme.

REA BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN – Day 22 🎉

 

In 2014 we hear about the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery, founded by Roxy Danckwerts, for the first time. It’s the first official Elephant Nursery in Zimbabwe. Moyo is the first elephant baby rescued by the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery in 2014. She was found alone, as a tiny, only a few days old baby on the shores of Lake Kariba. Moyo is an impish little girl and she enchants everyone with her charm.
